History

Background 

University of Nairobi Enactus was launched in 2003.In its 9 yr of existence, Enactus UoN has been running under the guidance and mentorship of Enactus Kenya. ENactus UoN is a unique team composed of young, enthusiastic dynamic students drawn from all faculties. Our mission is to impart leadership, team work and communication skills through learning, practicing and teaching the principles of free enterprise and we have not relented in empowering the community with knowledge and skills necessary for sustainable development.

Like other universities Enactus teams, we carry out outreach projects that empower our target groups to improve their living standards. We identify need[s] in a community and we take our target group through trainings such as skills on market economics, business ethics, communication skills, entrepreneurship and team dynamics in our mini workshops. With these skills we teach them how to fish which will feed them for a lifetime, and not give them a fish that will feed them for a day. We further partner with the corporate world to assist these target group with the needed capital and other skills through trainings organized by this companies or organizations. Like if a target group is involved in garbage management we can link it to Mazingira institute that deals in environmental issues.
